Language/Social Studies

Before Spring Break, we had been talking about all of the places in our community. Some popular ideas were the swimming pool, fire station, school, hospitals, Walmart, and McDonalds ;).

Can you talk about the places you know in Prince George? Draw (or build) a map of your community. Where do you live on the map? Where would you work? Don't forget to include some natural parts of Prince George like the forests and rivers!

Math:

Let's do some measurement activities today!

1. Find a piece of paper and draw yourself in the middle.

2. Find something in your house that is taller than you. Draw it beside you.

3. Find something that is shorter than you. Draw it on the other side of you.

4. Find something that is wider than you. Draw it above you.

5. Find something that is narrower than you. Draw it beneath you.

Bonus: Right now we are supposed to stay 2 metres away from people who do not live in our house to keep us all healthy. How long is two metres? Find something in your home or think of something you know that is about two metres wide or long. Create a visual to help others understand what 2 metres looks like.
